There is no denying that art can be a great addition to any home. It can add personality and style, and it can be a great conversation starter. But should you invest in a modern art piece for your home? That is the question that many people are asking themselves these days. The answer depends on a number of factors, including your budget, the look you are trying to achieve, and your personal taste. In this blog post, we will take a closer look at modern art and discuss whether or not it is worth investing in for your home.
As with any other type of home decor, modern art is an investment. It can add value to your home, but it can also take away from it if you don’t choose the right piece for your space. So how do you know what kind of art will work best in your space? The first thing that you need to consider is the size of your room. A large, spacious room can accommodate a larger piece of art, while a smaller room may need something more subtle. You also need to think about the style of your home. If you have a modern or contemporary home, then a modern piece of art is likely to be a good fit. But if you have an older home with more traditional architecture, then a traditional piece might be better suited to your space.
If you have decided that modern art is right for you, the next step is to determine what kind of artwork will work best in your space. You can choose from many different styles of art, such as abstract paintings or sculptures made out of metal or wood. You should also consider the colors that you want to use in your room, as these will help determine what kind of artwork you choose.
A modern art piece can be an excellent addition to any home if it is chosen carefully and placed in the right spot. It can add personality and style, but it can also take away from the look if you don’t choose wisely. It is important to think about what kind of artwork will work best in your space before making any final decisions. That way, you won’t regret your decision later on down the road!

Modern art has recently grown in popularity as an important form of interior design for both artists and homeowners. This art form reflects the creative thinking of various artists from all genres and has become highly popular as a result. The majority of modern art pieces feature animals, most commonly dogs. The majority of artists find their inspiration for these pieces by observing their dogs in the position that they typically live in – on a back porch. Many times you’ll see a dog walking around with its head turned towards the sky as it plays with the branches of a tree, just a classic example of what can be considered a modern composition.
Paintings are another way to incorporate modern art in the home. Paintings allow the artist to capture his or her artistic vision onto a variety of surfaces. Canvas paintings have been around for centuries and can be painted on any type of surface. The great thing about using paintings in the home is that you do not have to worry about them being damaged by humid weather or children playing around. The protective coating on canvas makes this type of interior design easy to clean, unlike paintings that are made of wood.
Another form of modern art for the home is impressionism. Impressionism is an artistic style that grew out of the popularity of Cubism and art nouveau style paintings. Many of the ideas that are associated with impressionism can also be found in other forms of modern art. Some paintings feature a blurred picture of a person looking right at a painting. Other paintings include busy objects in the foreground while the person’s eye is trained on a beautiful masterpiece in the distance.
Pre-Raphaelites were artists that lived in the West Country of England. They focused their paintings on rural landscapes. They usually painted a scene such as a peaceful countryside with plenty of flowers and wildlife. There are many different sizes and shapes of paintings from these artists including; portrait paintings, landscape paintings, portrait paintings, watercolors, oils, candlesticks, lantern paintings, candelabras and even illuminated manuscripts.
Pop art is another way of presenting modern art for the home. Pop art comes from artists such as Andy Warhol. The ideas presented in his work are bright and fast paced. Many of his paintings feature food, beverages or accessories that relate to popular culture of the day such as milk, soda cans or baseball cards. These paintings can be used as a conversation piece at dinner parties and can be enjoyed by all the people in the room.
Some of the pieces that can be considered pop art for the home include; Marilyn Monroe, Bob Marley’s rock band, Jimi Hendrix’s Animals, Jimi Hendrix’s Electric guitar, Jimi Hendrix’s Black Sabbath album, Bob Dylan’s solo record, Double Fantasy, and Washington Post’s home and garden section. Other popular modern paintings that are now offered for sale include; Michael Jackson’s Thriller cover, Nirvana’s Smells Like Teenage Love, Warhol’s Mona Lisa, and Walt Disney’s Cinderella. These and many more are on display at the county arts center, Anderson County museum and gallery, county courthouse and county park district, Hilton Head Museum and Gardens, and the Florida Museum of Modern Art.
Art decor is another area of interest in the modern category of contemporary artwork for the home. This type of art consists of framed paintings and other decorative items that are up dated with recent art style and concepts. The majority of contemporary artwork types were produced in the last century and is mostly based on color tones, geometric shapes, and unique artistic renderings.
The painting styles for contemporary decorative items are almost limitless. The possibilities are endless when it comes to utilizing contemporary artwork as a decorative touch for the interior of a home. Most of these items are manufactured in frames made of metal, wood, clear plastic, resin, or glass. Some other commonly used materials in contemporary decorating are; copper, acrylics, gold, silver, tin, enamel, ceramic, paper, bamboo, wood, natural stone, and/or leather.

Electric fireplaces are some of the best and most comfortable fireplaces that provide their users with bright light and sufficient warmth. Electric fireplaces have become one of the most popular rooms in modern homes because of their advantages over traditional wood and gas fireplaces. Is an electric fireplace a worthwhile addition to a modern home? Yes. Since they require neither a fireplace house nor a pre-installed fireplace, they are considered the best heating equipment for apartments and houses with modern furnishings. electric fireplaces that not only keep the rooms warm but also give the home an artistic charm. Electric fireplaces are great for a modern home. These fireplaces are mostly available in a variety of styles and designs. They do not need fuel and have many benefits. These fireplaces have generally gone through many transitions, making them truly the most demanding interior decoration in winter.
Modern homes combine realistic design, more attractive appearance, and high heat capabilities that provide the homeowner with a superior product that can heat a room quickly and efficiently. With features available such as remote controls and adjustable thermostats that are now almost standard, choosing a modern electric fireplace is simply a matter of keeping in mind your personal style and intended use.
The biggest advantage of electric fireplaces is that they can be used wherever heat is needed. You do not have to worry about sparks, coals, or ashes turning off the heater and possibly causing a fire. Units can be purchased in a variety of sizes and styles, so anyone can choose a unit that not only suits their location but can also be sure to choose a unit that complements their individual décor and style. Electric fireplaces provide instant heat and flame on-demand with no previous experience in starting and maintaining a live fire. No more hours, just to create a small flame by setting fire to a burner filled chimney that quickly exits. Since it is electrically operated, it provides a cheaper alternative to purchasing loads of firewood to continue live fire.
No pollution. Some people dislike the fact that gas and wood-burning fireplaces emit a certain amount of pollution. Even if the fireplace is extremely efficient and directs most of the pollution into the chimney, there are always risks. However, when dealing with an electric fireplace, you don’t have to worry about getting dirty. Since nothing really burns, there can be no pollution. All you have to do is plug in the fireplace and enjoy.
The greatest ease that an electric fireplace has to offer is that no materials are required to start it, in a traditional fireplace you have to light the wood, let it burn, and then make sure it is extinguished. Although most fireplace models have a thermostat, the temperature can be set so that the unit starts and stops when the desired temperature is reached. In addition, many models come with remote controls so that not only the temperature but also the brightness of the flame can be controlled.
Electric fireplaces create realistic-looking fires that not only heat the space but create a cozy and comfortable environment for homeowners. These devices are easy to move, are small and compact, and serve as an effective source of heating, and are a great purchase for someone who wants the ambiance and warmth of a natural fireplace.

When painting a mural, you’re always looking to make an impression. The location, shape, and size of the facade are almost equally as important as the painting that we create upon it.
If you have an art-loving family that welcomes your creations all around the home, then one place that might be begging to be the focus of your next creative masterpiece might be your garage door. Think about it, it’s large, it’s flat, and in most cases it’s already painted white. It’s essentially a component of your household that is just begging for a creative injection. If you decide to face this undertaking head on, there are a few things you might want to consider on your journey.
Preparing the Work Surface
As mentioned before, the great thing about a garage door is that it is probably already painted white. This means you won’t need any sort of priming before you start your artwork. However, if it’s not painted white you’ll want to give it a thorough coat of primer after you’ve completed these preparation steps.
To prepare your garage door for painting you’ll want to put painters tape over all of the windows, any metal fixtures, and any of the components of the tracks. You’ll want to tape off the trim of the garage as well, and make sure that any of the surfaces that you want to leave untouched are properly protected. Once all of that is complete, you’ll want to make sure the garage door is clean and ready to accept paint. At a minimum you’ll want to wipe it down with a damp cloth, and in some cases it might need a good scrub with soap and water. Just make sure to rinse thoroughly when you’re done.
Consider the Functionality
One thing to keep in mind as you get started in the creative process is that the place you’ve chosen to paint is mobile. The garage door will be able to open or close at any given time. If it doesn’t you’ll probably want to replace the garage door opener. You can even find a smart garage door opener that will function with other smart devices, perhaps this is something you can integrate with your creative piece.
You may want to take advantage of the fact that the garage door opens and closes. An obvious application would be to paint a picture of a mouth so your cars will get “eaten” every time you park. You’re creative though, so I’m sure you can come up with something a bit more clever.
With all of that out of the way, get on with painting your masterpiece. When you’re done you’ll want to take some efforts to preserve your work.
Preserving Your Masterpiece
Once you’ve finished your ambitiously creative mural on your garage door, you’ll want to take some measures to ensure that it lasts. As we mentioned earlier garage doors do move quite frequently. They’re also exposed to the elements, so without a little extra protection the colors will be inclined to fade and even worse, you can see chipping away of the paint over time.
To prevent this, you’ll want to make sure to apply a thorough coat of clear coat once your finished. Of course, you’ll want to make sure that the paint you used for your mural is compatible with the clear coat, so that’s another thing to keep in mind. You might be best off using all exterior paint, though you may be somewhat limited in the colors. You could of course add some pigments of your own.
Let us know how your garage door mural goes if you decide to give it a shot. We’d love to see how it comes out!

When you get a new puppy, you need to create a space specifically designed for them. It’s a place for them to relax and sleep while you are in bed or at work. Naturally, you want your dog to be as comfortable as possible while in their space within your home while also emphasizing safety and style. If you’re wondering how to make a dog room, here are some great indoor puppy pens or dog sleeping area ideas.
What You Need
A puppy pen can benefit from the inclusion of a number of items to keep your dog happy. Some of the basics are:
dog crate
dog bed
toys
water bowl
wee-wee pads
Naturally, you will have the option to get a number of other items for your dog’s space as well. Let your imagination roam. Once you have these items, you need an area to put everything.
Picking a Location
Picking the right place for your dog’s living space is crucial in making a dog room. First, you need to pick a room with easy to clean floors. You should probably avoid carpet and – to a lesser extent – wood. Tile is generally the best option since it doesn’t stain. The area should also be large enough for your dog to be comfortable and store everything while not being so big that they can cause trouble or go potty in multiple areas. The size of the area depends on several things, but mostly the size and activity level of the dog. Your dog will help tell you if the area is too big or too small with their behavior.
Setting Up
When setting up your dog room, the first step is to properly secure the area you selected. How can you go about keeping your pet out of the room with you work? Well, if you have a puppy-proofed the bathroom, you can simply shut the door. Just remember to put everything that can be damaged out of reach. Some people utilize walk-in closets or porches, too. You just have to learn how to dog proof a room. If you don’t have a room that works for your purposes, you can buy a gate. Be sure to secure the gate properly every time it is in use.
Once you’ve established a secure area, it’s time to place the biggest items, such as a rug, a crate, and a bed. Make sure the dog can’t jump on the crate to reach things you don’t want them to reach. Next, you get to place smaller items. Scatter some toys throughout the room so the dog has plenty of entertainment.
Be thoughtful about the placement of your items as you set up your dog’s room. The wee pads should probably go in a corner away from everything else. The crate can be between the wee pads and the bed/toys. You can also make the crate look like furniture if you’d like to help it jive with the decor of your home.
Introducing Your Pet to the Dog Room
When your dog is ready, it’s time to introduce your pet to their new home. Now, this shouldn’t be a problem considering there will be a number of toys for them to play with. If that still doesn’t work, use treats. Once the puppy is happily playing with their toy or eating their treat, quietly leave for a couple of minutes. Come back without any fanfare and let the dog out. Continue this process while gradually increasing the amount of time you are gone. If your puppy does start to act up when you walk away, you could try a calming scent. They sell products specifically designed to release pheromones that will help your easily excitable god relax when you leave.
Time Spent in Dog Room
Dog rooms are designed for long term puppy confinement area. A dog room is a great place for the dog, but it doesn’t mean that you should leave them there for too long. A puppy needs to get out to play a little bit and go to the bathroom. Also, try not to keep the dog in the crate for more than six hours. If you do need to be gone for longer than this, you should hire someone to come and walk the dog about halfway through the day. Ask a friend, family member, or neighbor who is home during the day. There are even apps available if you don’t know anyone.
If you are going to keep them in there for a long time, you should be sure to give the puppy exercise first. They will be happy to go to their bed and relax and drink water after a nice run or game of fetch.
Similarly to when you introduce the dog to the puppy pen, you want to introduce your dog to long term confinement gradually. If you ease them into it, it will be less of a shock to them.
Why a Dog Room
Some people may wonder exactly how necessary it is to create a dog room. Can’t you just leave the dog alone for a couple of hours without making a whole area for them to stay in? Well, you could by keeping a dog confined to one ordinary room. However, the effort into making a dog room can help reduce stress down the line and also make your dog feel like they have a place of their own to call home. Here are just some of the reasons to have a dog room:
Contain accidents
Puppies have accidents while potty training. It comes with the territory. You don’t want to come home and have to spend your evening searching the house for the source of the poop you smell. Plus, who knows when you’ll find a present you didn’t smell right away? In the dog room, you will have a wee-wee pad ready for the puppy to use if they can’t wait for you to get home. This helps contain accidents and makes it easier to clean up. Ideally, the dog will not even have accidents in the puppy pen.
Protect your property
One of the main reasons you want to keep your puppy in one place is to prevent them from damaging your property while you are away. Puppies tend to have a lot of energy. If they are left alone too long, this energy could be used to chew pillows or tear up the toilet paper. While the dog is in the dog room, they won’t be able to reach any furniture or toilet paper. You will walk in, and everything will be intact.
Make your dog feel comfortable
The dog room is an area of your home filled with all of your dog’s stuff. It’s a place they can call home. Just like you like to go unwind in your home with all your stuff, they like to have a spot to feel comfortable.
Peace of mind
When you put your pet in the dog room before you leave for the day, you can rest assured your dog and your home will be safe. You won’t be worrying about whether your dog is acting a fool in your house. This will allow you to be in the moment while you are out.
Teach a dog to be calm
When a dog is kept in one little place, they won’t have too much to do. Eventually, they will relax and sleep. After a time you will notice that the dog is calmer in general. This is perfect for wild puppies who could use some relaxation in their life.
Dog Safety
Your dog’s safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to making a dog room.
First, just look around for potential hazards. Common hazards include electrical cords, curtains, window shade cords, plants, and small objects they can choke on. you should also make a point to properly secure the gate or room you are using for the puppy pen. For additional security, consider installing a camera for you to watch your dog from wherever you may be.
Keeping it Stylish
Once you’ve made the dog room effective and safe, it’s time to decorate. It doesn’t have to be a dog-themed room, but your dog deserves a space that allows them to express their own personal style, whatever that might be. Pick a color scheme that’s both fun and not too light (you want to be able to hide stains). Paint the walls a fun color and put up fun artwork related to dogs. Just make sure not to put the artwork in a place where the dog can knock it down. You should also get a dog bed and toys. Make sure the dog bed fits into your color scheme.
You can also put a decorative blanket over the cage and put down a fun rug. Just make sure you don’t mind these items getting slobber on them.
The dog room serves as a puppy pen, and it is your opportunity to have some fun with your design aesthetic. Don’t be afraid to be playful and colorful. Unless your dog has a different personality. Your dog may prefer a sophisticated sleek look with lots of blacks and grays. You can even mix and match styles if your dog likes to switch things up. Whatever it may be, enjoy yourself while decorating.
Dog Room vs. Crate Training
It can be very easy for people to confuse building a dog room with crate training. However, they are two very different creatures – and in fact, a dog room often has a crate inside of it. Since the dog room provides that much more space, your dog can be left there for much longer than in a dog crate. Also, dogs tend to enjoy the mobility of a dog room way more than a crate. A dog crate offers many benefits of its own though, as it taps into a dog’s tendency to want to burrow in a den. Keep in mind that you need to put the dog room in a dog-proof area, and it can require a substantial amount of space.
Tips For Using a Dog Room
You want to make the most out of your dog room. Here are some tips on how to utilize it in the best way.
Keep food out of the dog room
While potty training, you should make a point to keep food out of the dog room. You can try using a closed bowl where you feed the dog on a regular schedule. This will help their digestive system move regularly. Basically, there will be fewer accidents this way. That doesn’t mean you can’t give them one treat before you leave, though.
Use dog room when you are at home
You want your puppy to feel comfortable in the dog room at all times. Use the dog room when you are at home but leave an opening so that they don’t feel trapped. You want them to feel at home there. You don’t want them to see going to the dog room as a sign that you are leaving, because it can cause them to dislike it.
Don’t listen to barking or whining
You don’t want to teach your dog that barking or whining will help them get their way. If your dog starts getting vocal after you put them in the dog room, you should not respond in any way.
Consider a Dog TV
If you put the dog close to the living room, you can even place things in a way where the dog can watch tv. There are channels specifically made to entertain dogs while you are away. Put the channel on before you leave to help distract them.
Your puppy deserves to be happy and safe. And you deserve to come home to a clean home. Creating a DIY dog den or dog room can help make both things a reality. Your puppy will have more room than if you just put them in a creative, and you’ll still be relieved to know they can’t get into anything while you are away. This might also make you have the right decision if you should let your dog roam the house at night. Once you’ve confined them to their playpen while you’re away, they will be just as comfortable as if you were home. It’ll almost be like you never left.

You probably already know that the garage was the birthplace of some of the top billion dollar companies in the world. Unfortunately, this life-changing living space is not given as much credit as it deserves. Why? Nobody knows.
So, maybe you just bought some property or moved in some new area and are thinking of customizing your garage with contemporary designs. It won’t be easy. Don’t worry though. Here are some few tips prepared exclusively just to help you out.
Always attach
One challenge when choosing a garage design is whether to go for a detached or attached garage. The detached might seem tempting, but it would be more advisable to go for an attached model. The first reason is convenience, especially during harsh weather conditions.
Just imagine your bathroom was a couple of meters from your house and you had to defecate, in winter! Get the picture?
Besides that, the attached garage has cheaper ventilation and electrical installation costs, thus enabling you to save some of that hard-earned cash.
Contrast for beauty
A contrasting look will definitely boost your garage’s overall look as compared to a plain uniform design. For starters, you could try using wooden doors and stone veneer siding. Not only would this fit your contrast needs, but it would also add a more natural outlook to your garage.
Additionally, you could also try painting. Warning! Don’t DIY this if you are not a professional painter. Try using vibrant colors for the garage doors and something soft for the outer regions.
Remember to use the right blends though or else you’ll end up with a circus. White and grey would not be a bad choice for a modern look.
Lo and behold, a disappearing act!
Automate your garage for more space. Now, this is not just garage doors but the entire garage floor as well. Yes, you can automate your floor by installing a disappearing underground car park, which will make your garage the new centerpiece of your entire property. For the doors, you can check out garage opener product reviews for great options.
With more space, you will be able to convert limited garage space into a car park, man cave, band room, or workspace simultaneously. It will cost you some extra bucks though.
Combine this with some little deluxe fittings and quality furniture and you’ll be on a whole other level of ‘bat cave’ cool! Perhaps even the new talk of the neighborhood.
Edge with style
Enough with the square garage! It’s time for something different, daring, and stylish. Edging your garage is great. In fact, the edgier your garage is the more stylish and elegant it looks. Here’s a challenge for you though. Be creative with your roofing. For instance, you could install double sloping roofs that slant in opposite sideways directions. Avoid the traditional front to back slope or central peaked slope.
In case you feel a bit daring, you could go for curved garage edges and walls to give you some sort of spaceship design. This will make your garage open up a little bit of room, not to mention increase its overall contemporary visual appeal. You’ll need to consult a garage architect to help you out.

Water fountains have many uses all around the world. If you go to any public places or business buildings in the United States, a water fountain will be present for human consumption. Water fountains are also very popular for decorating backyards, the insides of homes, or even public common areas. Having a water fountain creates a soothing and beautiful environment. Most people use water fountains to calm their nerves and relax to the sounds of continuous running water. There are many benefits of having a water fountain. After reading this article you will be able to enjoy a beautiful and affordable bamboo water fountain in the comfort of your home. You’ll even be able to drink out of it whenever you want! Don’t worry, the water will be filtered and safe for human consumption.
Getting Started
The materials will not be hard to find – in fact, you’ll only need 5 items to make this work. First, you are going to need a large pot or bowl, which will be the most important part of your water fountain. Make sure the bowl is big enough to hold a water pump and a good amount of water. A wide opening at the top of the pot/bowl is a necessity, as it will give you more room to design your fountain. Next you will need two really long bamboo sticks, or three smaller ones. Whether you want to use real or fake bamboo is up to you. The third item you will need will be string or twinw. I recommend using Jute twine to give your craft a beach-like vibe. You will also need a hot glue gun with maximum gluing strength to hold everything together. Last but not least, you will need a pump – I recommend the Jebao Mini Submersible 12W Fountain Pond Pump. This pump is simple to use and the size is perfect for this application. With all of these items together, you will be able to assemble an outstanding water fountain in no time.
Assembly
It is important to make sure you have the correct sizing for all of the componants. Without the correct sizes, you could spend many hours of frustration because the pieces don’t fit together. Depending on how big the main pot is, your bamboo length will vary such that it is sufficient to go across the top of the pot and hang off about 2 inches on each size.
1. Cut your bamboo into 3 pieces correspondingly to the width of your pot/bow. Be sure to place them on the top to make sure it sits on top perfectly before cutting.
2. With the remaining bamboo, measure out and cut a bamboo piece about 6″ and make one side of the bamboo the spout by cutting it diagonally at the end.
3. Get the twine/string and lace all three of the bamboo together at both ends, excluding the spout.
4. Place the water pump inside the pot/bowl.
5. Hot glue the spot on top of the bamboo horizontally. Make sure the spot points into the middle of the pot so that the water can pour back in, hence, continuous fountain.
6. Hot glue the bamboo piece onto the pot/bowl. The bamboo should be hanging off the edges by two inches. The spot should be pointing towards the center of the pot/bowl.
7. Get the tube of the water pump and place it in the other end of the spot. That way the water will flow out of the spot.
8. Fill 3/4 of the pot/bowl with water. Just make sure that the water is covering the filter.
After completing all of these steps, turn on the motor and your water fountain should be flowing beautifully. You can add finishing touches by decorating with fake plants to hide the motor or paint the bowl on the outside. Give it a little of your personality.
Filtration
Clean water is very important for the human body. We use it to for so many daily rituals such as cooking, cleaning, drinking, the list goes on and on! Everything living thing has water in it. Using a natural method to clean water is the way to go. It’s healthier, you don’t need to add harsh chemicals, and it will save you the expense from having to buy one of the best home water filters. One of my favorite ways to filter water is by using fruits. The peels of most fruits can absorb different types of harmful pollutants, especially heavy metals. The most popular fruits to use for this purpose are banana, apple, and tomato peels. Some even use coconut fiber & rice husks. My personal favorite method is lime and a lot of sunshine. It all depends on what you would like to use but if you were to go with the lime method, the steps are easy. Put lime juice into the water and place the fountain where the sun shines its brightest. Just with the sun, the rays disinfect the water and reduce the E. coli levels. Solar disinfection combined with lime or any citrus fruit gets a faster effect.
Conclusion
With this fountain, you will be ready for any social event. Who knows – the possibilities are endless! Building a water fountain is easy and can be done in many ways but the best part of doing this activity is the fact that the result is personalized. When you get to add your own personality to your art, it feels twice as rewarding than just building someone else’s art.

These days, people are upcycling like crazy. You can pretty much take any piece of trash and turn it into your next masterpiece. Upcycling was definitely a big trend in 2017, and we anticipate that it will be more prevalent throughout 2018 and beyond. Environmental preservation is a huge social movement, and as long as people are reducing, reusing, and recycling, art is a great venue to show your support for the cause.
Before you have your mattress ready for the garbage man to pick up, stop and think of what it means to you. It could be that you are about to waste the most artistic piece in your home. There’s a lot of compartments to a mattress, but if you’re not thinking about how valuable your mattress really is you could be wasting your talent.
The parts of a mattress seem to be complex, but in fact, they are amazingly simple to use. Before diving in and taking this mattress apart, brainstorm about the way you can use it. To come up with a contemporary sculpture, your strategy should be written down so you will know for yourself exactly what it is that you’re inventing. The springs are a great place to start. Make sure to set aside 15 for the parts that you have to do later. Have a hammer and wrench handy in case you need them, the sculpture itself will takes some hard work but it will be a lot of fun to make.
Twist and connect each spring piece to form a circle. Then as you think about what to do with the cotton, you are layering the cotton onto the springs and wrapping it around them like a ribbon. It may be easier to rub the cotton back and forth in your hands as if you’re trying to cause friction. This will help the cotton mimic the ribbon. Cut the wood that was in the mattress in half. After you’re finished with all of that, take the magnets and glue some to the wood and the rest to the sculpture. Make sure the wood is surrounding as much of the springs as possible.
After that is complete, you take a saw and go down the front of the sculpture to form a u-shape on one side of the sculpture. It should look like it has a dip in the front. Take those pieces of wood that were cut and glue them to the back of the sculpture toward the highest part of it. Place cotton in the middle of the sculpture but hold it in place with glue.
Take the springs that you did not use and overlap them. You want them to look like you’re weaving a basket. Stuff the holes with memory foam as needed for aesthetic purposes – the best memory foam mattress toppers are extremely pliable and will fit anywhere you need to fill the void. You want to find memory foam that is designed to hold up to the test of time, as many lower-quality memory foams will lose their resilience. This, over time, would lead to drooping and won’t give your structure the support that it needs.
Before adding the springs to the bottom of your sculpture, measure the circumference of it. You want the bottom piece to fit in the bottom like a lid. After you finished working on your art, you realized that you made a steel bongo. Be sure to have enough cotton around the top to make sure you don’t hurt your hands. You never thought you would be able to come up with something like this. Your sleep has helped you become an artist.
